Just had a good round up to the year 2013. It had its lows but I had a brilliant share of highs . Still riding on the highs and I know I'm channelling the power of the universe that this streak carries through. One of my mantras for this year going forth -"To harness the power of the universe is to command & demand that it does what we wish for it to do. Happy New 2014 everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful time during the festive period. New year's resolutions made or not made- each to their own. Yours truly had 2, great big phat ticks on that 2013 list, so fair to say that I'm  #deadproud of me. Reason why I felt spurned to get onto this years list now, just taken this long to actually action it, tsk tsk. Nevertheless, most important thing is, I am actually on it. 

2013 was a good year & I had lots of lots of great moments,one of which was meeting FitnessGuru @scoladondo- my aspiration/inspiration.It was the BFF's birthday and she's awesome like that in getting people together, all walks of life. Six degrees of separation immediately springs to mind. We went to a Street Feast at Dalston Food Market. They"bring together London’s best street food traders, chefs and restaurants, and serve giant festival-style pint-sized cocktails, craft beer and great wine, for quite a unique eating experience"
Now you try eating a giant grilled pork belly when you have your fitness idol sitting just right next to you. I really wanted her to see its not because of eating things such as that that im like this. You will find she is way way younger than me,almost half my age if I dare say so, but it doesn't have to take a Goliath or famous giant to be able to inspire someone. In her young years, she has worked extremely hard: the willpower, the tenacity, the RESULTS!!! I shan't go on, before this post turns to an ode to Scola. All I'll say is "Thank You Scola"... On such an unassuming day, here's what I wore.

Weekend shenanigans took me to Clarks Village outlet in Somerset. Retail therapy for me is not so much in the  buying, even the shopping experience & trying out staff gives me a buzz. Thats normally how I compile my "wishlist" for the ever impending Christmas or Birthday treats etc. This was not my trip though, I was literally on the job. A friend has a wedding to attend and wanted for me to style her out. Im such a big fan of Jaeger and I couldn't help a quick detour to check out the new lines and boy did I do myself  a favour. I've been wanting this bag for so long, (its actually sold out in all the mainstream shops) but have not been able to justify the price. Price tag came in at a hefty £250, which for me is a little steep for a small bag, which at a push can be  

classed as a clutch. Jaeger had sales of up to 75%. I held the bag all throughout the quick browse -to buy or not to buy?? Finally gave in and went to the counter expecting at the most to pay at least half of it. Would you believe it? I got it for a cool £75. I burst into song "written in the stars",much to the chagrin of all in the shop (acting all hood in one of these quaint villages- LOL)

   I'm loving the quilted look- just spells stylish and expensive. That should be me done for bags till next year. I've got a habit of overdoing things when I like them. If you're looking for the same trend, I got a beautiful handbag from Ted Baker. Loved it soo much I had to get the ipad case to match..Well to be honest, I'm just a Ted baker junkie..(hint hint on that wish wishlist)

"An affair ...

.... in Red Square" is one of my favourite ever nail colours from OPI. I have an unhealthy obsession with  it- one thing I dont mind admitting to at all. The bold red is a statement on its own and I feel like a powerhouse whenever I wear it.  Does to me what retail therapy or a Starbucks to others. The beauty of it is I don't need to work hard on what I wear after, it won't matter. I usually pair with MAC Red or Ruby/RiRi Woo. Talk about feeling good from within.....
            Like all beauty trends, nail polish trends change. For me, one easy way to instantly glam up an outfit is a set of perfectly groomed nails in a show stopping nail polish. I do not mind the more statement, bright shades that shout right at you. Here are a few of my faves.

This comes up a bit pricey at £11, but I'm sure you can agree looking like that, one can't put a tag on it..  Pink is an an all year round beauty and fashion trend and one of the easiest ways to dip into the look is via - you guessed it- Pink nail vanish. I wore it to a wedding with a bright yellow dress and thats all I had to do to complete my look. And I've worn it a couple of other times-dare I say I almost always come out with a compliment.

I adore BarryM. Whether you're a metallic, glitter or glossy kind of chick, BarryM has it.  The collection is an easy way to update your everyday look, or try your hand on a chic take on the nail art trend. Theres something seriously satisfying about buying nail polish or adding to a collection and one such for me is BarryM. They  come in at £2.99 but if like me you're always drawn to the BarryM counter, you're in with a chance of getting them as cheap as £1.99. I'm always buying them for no reason whatsoever. Well, for just because they are so delicious and I love them all and can't decide on one colour. (Covers face and hides)

Whatever the occasion or time of year, perfectly groomed nails never go out of style. Inasmuch as the trends change seasonally, there's no one shade suits all. However you want to experiment- take your pick from the affordable BarryM shades, that must have OPI vanish to the seriously luxe Chanel, Tom ford hues etc. Happy painting....

In The Mix

Hi everyone, sorry for the hiatus(slaps hand). Im definitely back now, hopefully to share a lot more of what I've been working on. I always like to recycle my clothes when I can help it. I've noticed how I was in the habit of buying something new every time I had an occasion. Downside to that being, most of my clothes have been worn just the one time and they go to the bottom of the "literal pile". SMH..Safe to say I've overgrown that stage to be a more sensible dresser and now tend to work with what I have. Here's something I threw on when I attended a babyshower at the weekend. 

 I love how the playful dress can be styled in different ways to reflect the changing weather. I wore it last summer when we graced the Jersey Islands with the BFF. I also love the fun meets sexy feel of the jacket. The floral prints have been definitely making a statement this season. The florals complimented my whole look without screaming -EFFORT. Intrigued how I did not intend to wear a jacket and I grabbed that on my way out the door for "just in the case the weather turned".....and it happened to work out as it did. Result!! Was definitely my  statement piece of the night..Have a great week

When I'm Feeling Blue

I've got in the habit of doing a lot of 'selfies', not so much in the name of vanity or narcissistic behaviours (i know one person already who would argue otherwise) but rather not much time to film in between things. Hence the hiatus in posting anything of late. Better late than never hey!! So the weather absolutely refuses to cheer up and the only excuse I got to wear sandals, you bet I didn't pass up on the chance, but of course you can be 100% certain I carried a brolly in my bag. Sadly it was not warm enough to throw a summer top on. Well, we make do, we have to. 
Ended up just making a trip for some Bubble tea and sushi at Harvey Nics, which was eventful in itself, but, i shan't dwell on it. Quick detour to Harrods to stock up on some MAC make up which I was running low on... was excited for their beautiful display of the upcoming film: The Great Gatsby.
