In The Mix

Hi everyone, sorry for the hiatus(slaps hand). Im definitely back now, hopefully to share a lot more of what I've been working on. I always like to recycle my clothes when I can help it. I've noticed how I was in the habit of buying something new every time I had an occasion. Downside to that being, most of my clothes have been worn just the one time and they go to the bottom of the "literal pile". SMH..Safe to say I've overgrown that stage to be a more sensible dresser and now tend to work with what I have. Here's something I threw on when I attended a babyshower at the weekend. 

 I love how the playful dress can be styled in different ways to reflect the changing weather. I wore it last summer when we graced the Jersey Islands with the BFF. I also love the fun meets sexy feel of the jacket. The floral prints have been definitely making a statement this season. The florals complimented my whole look without screaming -EFFORT. Intrigued how I did not intend to wear a jacket and I grabbed that on my way out the door for "just in the case the weather turned".....and it happened to work out as it did. Result!! Was definitely my  statement piece of the night..Have a great week

When I'm Feeling Blue

I've got in the habit of doing a lot of 'selfies', not so much in the name of vanity or narcissistic behaviours (i know one person already who would argue otherwise) but rather not much time to film in between things. Hence the hiatus in posting anything of late. Better late than never hey!! So the weather absolutely refuses to cheer up and the only excuse I got to wear sandals, you bet I didn't pass up on the chance, but of course you can be 100% certain I carried a brolly in my bag. Sadly it was not warm enough to throw a summer top on. Well, we make do, we have to. 
Ended up just making a trip for some Bubble tea and sushi at Harvey Nics, which was eventful in itself, but, i shan't dwell on it. Quick detour to Harrods to stock up on some MAC make up which I was running low on... was excited for their beautiful display of the upcoming film: The Great Gatsby.

Déjà Vu

This is exactly what happened when I wore Brazilian hair again for the second time ever since circa 2010. I was spooked by how similar the parting was, shade, length of the hair and sadly, how I haven't changed not in the least, in the 3years. Well, the only consolation is I'm not much worse, which begs the question, what have I been doing with thyself?? Ahh, answer is a whole new post folks-watch the space. In the meantime, just have a peek at what i mean.

Errr, I thought to skip this bit but well, there's more joy in sharing right? You know how you have your hair in plaits as you go about your business at home, sleep etc?? I didn't have time to roller set mine on the day of the wedding as I got so busy helping the kids dress up, made sure everybody was on time so much so that I left little time for myself. So apparently, I had one plait sticking out the whole time at the wedding( I missed undoing one) and my friend only thought to say at the end of the day and said how she thought it looked soo different,  how I wasn't too fussed on it being too perfect!!! Huh?? What??? Ya Think?? (cringes) But hey, I got through the day and if you can't spot it in the pictures, I can't either- he he..

Well, lately it's been all about colour blocking, clashing prints and the like. Just once in a while the demure Monochrome always wins and most often than not, works out effortless chic. I didn't go for the classy look or anything but putting a few pieces together sticking to the same colour tones took less time than I would normally to get dressed and still did serve a purpose, just a quick dash to the mall to pick out some some... The weather simply refuses to warm up and i had to dig out my boots from Faith from back when they did good shoes.

Everywhere you look, the social media is awash with stories and mostly pictures of the London Fashion Week. I didn't have a chance to attend this year but I was not altogether at a loss, as I depended on a few of my trusted bloggers. I must commend styleismything, fashionbombdaily especially among others for such a sterling job of keeping us updated with the various events.
