MONOCHROME

What I wore:

ROCHA JOHN ROCHA Coat/ ZARA Jersey Dress/ H&M Tee n Leggings/ FAITH Boots/ TOPSHOP Bracelets and Ring/ M&S Limited edition Slingbag

Well, lately it's been all about colour blocking, clashing prints and the like. Just once in a while the demure Monochrome always wins and most often than not, works out effortless chic. I didn't go for the classy look or anything but putting a few pieces together sticking to the same colour tones took less time than I would normally to get dressed and still did serve a purpose, just a quick dash to the mall to pick out some some... The weather simply refuses to warm up and i had to dig out my boots from Faith from back when they did good shoes.

LFW-my late coming instalment

Everywhere you look, the social media is awash with stories and mostly pictures of the London Fashion Week. I didn't have a chance to attend this year but I was not altogether at a loss, as I depended on a few of my trusted bloggers. I must commend styleismythingfashionbombdaily especially among others for such a sterling job of keeping us updated with the various events. I must say I did live my life vicariously through them, just for then, and it worked a treat. I took the cue to share my experience at the Tiffany Amber collection that debuted in Sept 2011. Get the scoop here: Nigerian-fashion-label-Tiffany-Amber.

WHAT'S IN MY BAG??

This post was inspired by BFF Editor-in-Chief of chaudmag.com. She always has some weird and wonderful reads and although this has taken a while to come up, its finally here. Fair to say she has set some precedent  to her "Whats in your bag post", its hard to follow that surely.

The bag itself is a Russel&Bromley. I've had it for a couple of years and as you can see, its still going strong in spite of all the abuse its taken from me over the years. I love their bags, durable, stylish and most of all practical (for me at least, as I tend to do very big bags).

The Make up bag, and it contents as follows:

Im still  a novice in photo editing. I just got my Mac Book Pro and I'm still finding my way through it and experimenting with different apps etc. So, if you can bear with me please and for the time being work with me clockwise from:

1) MAC Shimmertone Blush in Dollymix
2) MAC Studion Finish Concealer in NC45
3) MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural in Dark
4) MAC Gold Deposit Mineralise Skinfinish
5) MAC Full Coverage Foundation in NC45
6)Fashion Fair lipstick in Fiery Fuchsia
7) MAC RED lipstick
8) Sleek Twist up Lip Pencil in Currant
9) MAC Prolongwear Lustre Lipcolour in Boss brown/Mirror
10) MAC Prep + Prime Primer
11) Mary Kay brush Set from L-R(Foundation brush, Blusher brush, Powder Brush, Eyeliner/Eyebrow  brush, eye crease, eye definer/blending brush)
12) Zovirax cream(I'm prone to coldsores, bane of my existence)
13) 2x Tweezers
14) MAC Sharpener
15) No7 Beautiful Brows Pencil in Black/Brown with brush(Hypoallergenic)
16) Peep Show Mascara
17) Avon Supershock Black eyeliner
18) MAC Eyebrows crayon in Stud
19) GOSH Velvet Touch Eyeliner in Truly Brown
20) Benefit it stick(concealer)
21) Kiss and Tell Lipgloss from H&M
On a normal day, Id just wear the Gold Deposit Mineralise Skinfinish, Blush,Mascara and the Kiss&Tell lipgloss. Works a treat as it doesn't take as long and save the whole shebang for evening wear or going out

Other things: iPad and Ted Baker case, Ted Baker Wallet(you have to excuse my love for TB-post for another day)
Sunglasses, Laura Mercier hand cream, Stylus pen(all thanks to my BFF-Im loving it), Olbas Tissue, Blackberry, Apple Headphones, Keys-loving my pyramids keyring from a friend's recent travels to Egypt, Travel card, Gloves by Jasper Conran and umbrella from H&M.

The can't do withouts: iPad and case- you know one of those people that plodge an iPad right in your view to record something or take a picture?? Whatever happened to cameras or an iPhone at least, not a whole iPad??? Yes, I'm one of those people. Maybe not as much now as I've just recently purchased a camera but I'm still not shy to use my iPad. lol

Sunglasses-Count 2 in the guilty plea. I wear sunglasses even when its not sunny. The wind cramps my style. I  hate it when my eyes start watering and mess on my make up, mascara goops and running eyeliner-no, no, no.

Blackberry- uh huh, still not converted/upgraded to iPhone, although i suspects its imminent.
and headphones-music just does it for me.

Umbrella( One of things I'm always buying on a whim- I lose them a lot anyway so I don't particularly splash out on one. I just look out for pretty ones and H&M often does em pretty and cute.

-On a good day,its just me and this lot in the park and I'm good. If it does happen to rain, then i head off home or somewhere dry to resume my business.

Misc: Harrods receipt from when I went for the perfume sale in January( thats how long I haven't cleared my bag)

Slimmer sweeteners( I'm on a health kick and trying to curb my sugar intake and these are helping - tea without sugar, ahh garai netea yenyu. (literally means no thank you in Shona)

Rose Water- some do it with a Starbucks,  some with water, some even with a jog, I use Rose Water. A splash on my face as a pick me up when I'm on the go.

Temple Balm (I was spooked with a picture of Naomi Campbell all thanks to justpatience.com. Her hairline is no more, like nada. Mine showed signs of, so I'm not taking any chances-sory Nai, wrong kind of inspiration)

Victor&Rolf Flowerbomb EDP (love, love, love it),

Several pairs of studs just in case I'm in a rush.., and extra SD card for my BB

Gum ( Halitosis - hell to the no. Believe it or not, I carry it especially for other people. When I'm sat next to an offending commuter, I casually pop one in my mouth and toy around with it until they ask if they can have one, or I will offer them one-seriously )

Gucci tester- I carry testers if i happen to remotely like the scent just so my my bag smell nice.

Kudos Chaud Mag for this tag. It is quite a challenge and quite taxing to list all the staff thats in my very large bag. But if a Chief editor can be such a spot, I aint going to be a party pooper.

My New Fragrances

Compliments of the New Year my pumpkins!! Hope you had a good transition into 2013. One of the things I do at the start of every year is to go for the acclaimed perfume sale @Harrods. So that usually means I only ever have to buy my fragrances once a year. It also gives way to getting other things I want for my birthday and other notable dates of the year. I didn't have much money but i managed to get myself a decent collection- all for less than £100, which would normally buy me just the one in season. At Harrods perfume sale is where I get to be creative and adventurous with my scents. I try new ones and even get to check out all the recommendations from friends. I almost always manage to surprise myself with what i get. Here's a few i got this year and why:

1). PRADA MILANO-INFUSION D"IRIS
This is not new in. I have been seeing it over the years but was overwhelmed by how i never took notice of it when i soo clearly fell in love with it this year.
Prada Milano comes beautifully presented in this Branded coffee cosmetic bag. I do see the bag coming in handy even way after the perfume has been and gone.
RRP: 50ml RDP £54    Giftset sale price: £27.95

2). MOSCHINO CHEAPandCHIC

Exactly what is says on the pack. Its one of the lower end of the spectrum price wise, but so chic and fresh i buy it every year. Yes, thats how I'm so in love with it.

Moschino Cheap and Chic comes in fun and playful boxes. The middle is the contents, the top one is from one i purchased last year and the nearer one is the new box.
RRP: 30ml EDT- £28         Giftset sale price: £17
I only ever got it first time in a Moschino mini gift box and quite frankly, they had me at hello(have to say all that as i get so much stick for liking this one).
Same one from last year, its just a box now that I  use for my rings. I never know how to store my jewellery(Help!!post for another day). Just liked how this box pops against the background which is by the way my nieces bedcover-cute.

3). BVLGARI OMNIA CORAL

Love love love this BVLGARI gift set. The bottles are uniquely shaped and the set includes a body lotion and a bath gel-Bliss. Tried it for the first time last year but was in Green(Jade). Went back for it but was gone gone gone. I'm told they also did it in white(Daisies) this year. Got it to try it but would I be a sellout if I told you I love it more than the one i got last year??
RRP:40ml EDT-£43                    Giftset Sale price: 40ml EDT- £23.

HERE ARE SOME SOME OF MINE FROM LAST YEAR'S HAUL

BALENCIAGA PARIS. Everything about this is perfection. Contains 75ml EDP, 75ml Body Lotion and a purse size EDP which is probably between 15-20ml's, I couldn't be sure. Reason why its almost new is how much I love it. I only pull out for very very special occasions.
RRP: 75ml EDP- £75              Giftset sale price: £40
VICTOR & ROLF FLOWERBOMB- Arguably one of my favourite ever perfume.  Someone said to me they could swallow me whole when i wore that. lol. That stuck with me.
RRP: 50ml EDP - £65
And now for the drumroll!!!!!! NARCISO RODRIGUEZ for her . This is my favourite of all my fragrances. Unfortunately, the high end fragrances never really go in the sale but its one of those I never mind paying full price for- "coz its worth it".
RRP: 100ml EDP- £74
All perfumes were purchased from Harrods, although prices may differ as some were purchased last year/in the sale.

Pease feel free to share your faves, I'm always on the lookout for new and exciting  fragrances. Much love, xxx

Shoulda been a stylist...

Maison Martin Margiela With H&M Duvet Coat, £179.99

Who woulda thunk it?? This time last year my friends and I were thinking its so cold you could wrap a duvet around  yourself and synch it in with a belt - just to stylise it, and what do you know. Maybe I spoke out loud (SMH).

Available in store from around Nov 15...
